Chris Raven
Chris Raven started his career as a fashion and celebrity photographer in London, before turning his attention to the exotic world of travel writing and photography following his UK to Vladivostok road trip in 2003, where he became one of the first Europeans to traverse the uncompleted Zilov Gap, a 400 mile (640 km) section across Siberia in a rusty old £300 Ford Sierra Sapphire. Best known for his witty overland travel writing and off the beaten track colour photography, Chris is also a major contributor for the popular online travel magazine www.theitchmag.com and the author of three published travel comedies co-written with his twin brother and owns a stock library of travel images. www.chrisraven.com
Simon Raven
Born in England, Simon graduated from the London Institute in 1996. After working as an online news editor and journalist, he left to freelance as a travel writer and photographer. His career was launched when he drove from the UK to Vladivostok in 2003 with his brother Chris, becoming one of the first Europeans to traverse the Zilov Gap and the new Amur Highway by car across Russia and Siberia. Simon has covered many international destinations over the past decade, including the Balkan Peninsula, new routes across South America, and China’s Deep South. Simon’s mission is to report on the unique people and places that colour our world.
